Kelley Construction was awarded Phase I & II for the site development, tank ring-wall, and foundation contract for U.S. Oil’s new refined petroleum and renewable products terminal in Melissa, TX. The 300,000 BBL terminal was built to service the Dallas area. Scope of work included mass cut and fill, grading, SWPPP on 20-acre site, (8) ring-wall foundations, truck loading lanes, pipe rack supports, building foundations, containment walls, retention pond, dike liner, final grading, and management of several subcontractors. Despite Phase I hurdles with unidentified rock to be excavated then working through a pandemic, ice storm, and subsequent concrete shortage, Kelley Construction completed its scope on schedule, thus allowing mechanical, electrical, and architectural scopes to start on schedule.
