officials with NTS Corp. and the University of Louisville are starting to think about building No. 3.
Lewis Borders, NTS’s vice president of operations, told me that preliminary design plans are being developed for a third building at ShelbyHurst, which is on the University of Louisville’s Shelby Campus.
The first building, 600 North Hurstbourne, opened in early 2012, and the 700 North Hurstbourne building is under construction.
The first building became fully leased when Churchill Downs Inc. (NASDAQ: CHDN) — which moved its headquarters there in 2012 — leased additional space to house its growing technology operations in Louisville.
Both buildings are four stories and have about 125,000 square feet.
No tenants have been announced for the 700 North Hurstbourne building, which is expected to be completed in May, but “leasing demand has been pretty robust,” Borders said.
The contractor for the $20 million project is Louisville’s Kelley Construction Inc.
“They are working full speed,” Borders said.
