An independent panel of judges, representing a cross section of the industry, selected winners based on craftsmanship, uniqueness, execution, complexity, safety programs and other criteria, the release said.
The 2009 BKD President’s Award in Construction was given to Louisville-based Kelley Construction Inc. for its work on the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) headquarters in Fourchon, La. The project was chosen by the judges to be the overall best in the annual competition, according to a news release.
In addition to the President’s Award, Kelley received the award of excellence — also for the LOOP headquarters — in the category of commercial projects over $5 million.
